Adult Classes

About my adult classes

My adult classes are suitable for all ages from 13 with no upper age limit. I offer chair yoga for those with reduced mobility and more vibrant classes for those who wish to stretch and gently challenge themselves.

As a seasonal yoga teacher, my classes reflect the energy and mood of the seasons and work with your body. There is no right or wrong way to enjoy yoga; the many different styles of yoga and types of classes available reflect how adaptable the practice can be for all ages and abilities. My classes will typically start with a few minutes grounding and arriving in the space - a few minutes to leave all worries and egos outside the room. I then go through a few traditional yoga poses, sometimes blending in some qigong sequences.

Each pose will have adaptations for those new to yoga or less flexible. We always work with our breath to enhance and facilitate poses and then go to a simple flow to connect the moves together. I like to finish a class with a 5-10 minute savasana (yoga nidra) to seal and reconnect our practice and ensure that everyone leaves class having had both a gentle workout and mind reconnection.

Chair Yoga

If getting down to the floor is a challenge, my Chair Yoga classes provide a safe and accessible option.

Chair Yoga is a gentle form of yoga that’s practised while sitting in a chair or using one for support. It’s ideal for anyone who may find it difficult to get down to or up from the floor, or who simply prefers a more supported practice. In Chair Yoga, you’ll enjoy many of the same benefits as traditional yoga, such as improved flexibility, circulation, balance, and relaxation. Movements are slow and mindful, with a focus on breath awareness, posture, and building strength in a safe, comfortable way. Whether you’re managing a chronic condition, recovering from injury, or just starting your yoga journey later in life, Chair Yoga offers a welcoming path to keeping you moving comfortably and confidently.
